TipTop Pay allows you to accept online payments for visits directly through your online booking. This guide explains how to connect and configure TipTop Pay in the Altegio interface.
Where to find the integration #
To connect TipTop Pay in Altegio:
Settings → Integrations → Marketplace → Search for “TipTop Pay” → Connect
Once connected, follow the steps below to complete the setup.
Log in to your TipTop Pay account #
Open the TipTop Pay website.
Sign in to your personal account using your login credentials.
Open your website settings #
In the TipTop Pay dashboard, open the Sites section. Find the website you use for payments. Click it to access its settings.
In the site settings you will find two required parameters:
- Public ID — your public account identifier
- API Secret — a private key used for interaction with TipTop Pay
You will need both parameters to complete the integration setup in Altegio.
Store the API Secret securely. Never share it with third parties.
Enable required notifications #
For the integration to work correctly, the following notification types must be activated in TipTop Pay:
- Check — verifies whether the payment can be processed
- Pay — confirms a successful payment
- Refund — notifies about refunded payments
Open the notification settings section and make sure all three types are enabled.
Specify the callback URL #
In the Website URL / Callback URL field, enter:
https://app.alteg.io/payments/prepaid/tiptoppay
This URL is required for TipTop Pay to send payment status updates back to Altegio. Make sure to click Save to save your settings.
After entering all data, save your changes in TipTop Pay.
Then return to Altegio and submit the Public ID and API Secret in the TipTop Pay integration window.
Checking the integration #
Once everything is configured, we recommend:
- Making a test payment to verify correct operation
- Checking that notifications are successfully received by Altegio
- Confirming that payment information appears in the Finance and Visit details in your Altegio account
Important notes #
If you lose your API Secret you can generate a new one in your TipTop Pay site settings. Remember to update it in Altegio as well.
You need to enable all three notification types (Check, Pay, Refund) for correct payment processing.
TipTop Pay usually processes payments within a few seconds. Once processed, the status is automatically sent to Altegio.
