Since its launch, Altegio has helped service businesses earn more and run operations more transparently. We are now updating our pricing and access logic: moving from a “paid roles” approach to a “paid rights” approach.
The new pricing logic comes into effect on February 3, 2026.
Why we’re introducing these changes #
Our goal is to make the rules clear and consistent for all companies, improve the security of financial operations, and give owners more control over who can make changes in the system.
As a company grows, the team expands—assistants, analysts, partners appear—and not every team member needs full access to the system.
Because of this:
We are adding 2 free roles so salon owners can connect team members for control and administration, and provide safe “view-only” access—without increasing the number of paid team members.
We are moving to the “paid rights” model. Team members who work with client data, bookings, and payments impact revenue and business security just as much as service providers. It’s important that the owner: has a transparent view of bookings/cash desk/finances, understands who is making what changes, and feels confident in financial security.
The new model makes the rules fair and easy to verify: whether someone is paid is determined not by their job title/role name, but by their actual capabilities (rights) in the system.
When do the changes apply? #
The new rules will start applying only when purchasing a new subscription or switching to another subscription, including auto-renewal—meaning that from the next charge, payment will be made under the new terms.
Current subscriptions will continue to work under the old rules until a new subscription is purchased.
Important
Purchasing additional team seats within the current subscription is not considered a transition to the new terms.
What changes #
1) Two new free access levels #
To support business owners, we introduce two free roles that cover the most common scenarios: control, administration, and billing—without participation in day-to-day operational work.
Free “View-Only” Access (Free Read-Only Access) #
Suitable for a manager/partner/analyst/observer who needs to see data but not change it.
Conditions:
- view/read rights only
- no rights to edit/create/delete
- no schedule (the team member is not included in the schedule)
Why this role exists
Owners often need to give someone access for oversight: to review metrics, finances, and data—without the risks of editing and without increasing the paid team limit.
Free Altegio Administrator (Free Altegio Administrator) #
Suitable for a manager or owner’s assistant who handles system administration but does not work with bookings.
Conditions:
- full view access
- team management (create/edit/invite team members)
- access to subscription payment/billing
- no schedule (the team member is not included in the schedule)
This is an important distinction: in general, “editing = paid,” but for the Free Altegio Administrator role, an exception applies.
Why this role exists
In many companies, owners delegate team management to an assistant or manager. This role makes it convenient and avoids additional costs.
2) All owners become paid #
Previously, the system included an option for 1 free owner.
Now, when purchasing a new subscription, all owners will be counted in the subscription’s team limit.
This change makes the model transparent: the subscription reflects the actual number of active team members who manage the business and the system.
Example
The company paid for 3 team members, and the owner was free.
After the subscription transition, the company will pay for 4 team members.
3) Any team member with editing rights becomes paid #
A team member is considered paid and will be counted in the subscription limit if they have at least one right to:
- Create
- Edit
- Delete
- Modify
Important
A single such right anywhere in the system is enough.
4) Redefining paid/free access #
New baseline logic:
- all team members are paid by default
- only exceptions that match the free access levels (see above) are considered free
5) Rights classification: paid vs free #
Paid rights are any actions that change data:
create / edit / delete / modify.
Free rights are view/read only, with no ability to make changes.
Example for the “Appointment Calendar” section
Rules already defined for this section:
Free (view):
- view schedule
- view bookings
- view clients
- view finances
Paid (changes):
- edit team schedules
- move bookings
- create/edit/delete bookings
What this means for your company #
Because of the new rules, your subscription team limit may change, and some companies will see that:
- previously “free” owners are now counted in the paid limit
- team members who used to be free by role, but had editing rights in practice, now become paid
- in some cases, the company may exceed the previous limit. You may need to review team setup or access rights
How to prepare (recommended) #
Review owners:
- how many owners are in the system
- who truly needs to be an owner with full rights
Review team members with editing rights:
- who has create/edit/delete rights in any section—pay special attention to bookings, cash desk, finances, clients, inventory, schedule
Identify those who only need to view data:
- analysts
- assistants
- managers who don’t need to make changes
They can use Free Read-Only (if they have no schedule).
Assign an administrator for access and billing. If you need someone who:
- invites/removes/configures team
- is responsible for subscription payment
but does not work on a schedule, they can use Free Altegio Administrator.
If you have questions #
Contact your Altegio manager—details can be found in Reports > Upcoming Visits.
We will help you:
- assess whether your team limit will change
- advise who to move to Read-Only or assign as a system administrator
- configure roles and rights correctly before transitioning to a new subscription.
